The Track and Field Facility at Sidney High School project consisted of removing and replacing the existing track and jumping facilities. The old track had a history of frost heaving issues, rendering the facility un-usable at times during the spring months, when it is most heavily needed. The new track and high jump area has a state-of-the-art post-tensioned concrete base and a polyurethan track surface. The track is an 8-lane 400 meter track, with 10 lanes for the 100 meter straight. The project also provided 4 sand pits with new runways for the horizontal jumps, and a new pole vault runway with the ability for 2 pits. The project was a finalist for the New Track and Field Facility of the Year in 2021.
This project will always be near to our hearts as many of Corland Construction, LLC employees have direct family ties to members of the Sidney High School Track and Field coaching staff and athletes. We worked together with Sidney High School, SDI Architects + Design, Fisher Tracks, and many local and out of state subcontractors and suppliers to provide this beautiful facility that serves the School District and all of Richland County.
